A new way to blog a while ago
We recently completed an overhaul to our parent company's website. In the process we had to decide how to engage folks and keep them up to date. Instead of doing a standard WordPress install or hosting on another service, we decided to play around a bit.
The ways that folks are "blogging" are just beginning to splinter and you will most likely see a lot of innovation in this space. This is our first pass (a couple of days!) at a new way to blog. Comments have been given parity. We are using twitter and Facebook as authentication systems and we have tried to keep things lean and clean. We have several additional related projects in the works. Please give us feedback. Would you use something like this for your own website? What about as a hosted service? How would you like to see blogging and content management software evolve? |

Hillary H I am fascinated by the multi-site integration here. Good work! And may be picking your brain about how to pull it off successfully.Congrats on launching the new site! a while ago |

drthomasho This is an intriguing idea because I'm much more likely to blog from Twitter. Imagine feeling less 'guilty being on twitter! a while ago |
narendra @drthomasho Facebook has a large reach, high degree of personalization, and reliable social accountability at the moment. a while ago |

drthomasho Do you know of anyone using SyncMyCal30Boxes http://tinyurl.com/2cx43h I'm getting ready to try it again. a while ago |

melmcbride twitterblog is cool but what about signal/noise issues? Seems that's a big one with twitter (given absence of shared standards) a while ago |

drnormal Twitter can be a rich comment platform. I was thinking lightweight Tumblr blog (no comments) + Twitter for comments a while ago |
webstyler really cool cross platform communication, go for it! a while ago |
83degrees @drnormal agreed. we are going to experiment a lot. @webstyler thanks! a while ago |

DonDahlmann Nice Idea. But thinking about usability. Read the blog, comment on Twitter? a while ago |

Justine E Very interesting! a while ago |

83degrees @jhofker - our dashboard lets you link @ replies to any post. Still needs some figuring. @dondahlmann you can comment directly as well. Twitter replies have the added benefit of automatically "promoting" a conversation to people who follow you. a while ago |
jhofker That's pretty neat! I'd imagine with a lot of replies, the manual process might get kind of overwhelming. a while ago |

Otis K I'd love to use something like this on my website, it seems perfect for something I'm working on. a while ago |
